I’ll show you how with free keto menu plans! Every Saturday morning I’m going to post a new 7-day menu plan and shopping list for the following week. Hopefully for those of you that work during the week, it will give you enough time to shop and prep over the weekend. WHATEVER from that week in the comments as well, and we can all keep track of and support each other!
What is the full form for WHO?
I’m super excited about that part of it! I’m hoping it will help keep us accountable, and also that knowing there are a bunch of us doing it together will help us through the rough patches! I’m sure we’ll have discussions going over on the Facebook Page throughout the week as well, so please be sure to join us over there too! If it goes well, I may eventually resurrect the forum page here on the blog and we can have different threads going, share recipes, success stories, before and after photos, and you guys can talk amongst yourselves and get to know each other as a community. Meanwhile, this is Day One for me and it’s going as expected. If it was just keto it would probably only last a few days, but since I’ve been ignoring my gluten intolerance for weeks, I know from experience that the gluten detox headaches will only get worse and it will take at least a week for them to abate.
Don’t feel bad for me though, I did it to myself and knew exactly what I was doing! And even more so because so many of you are doing it to! This is going to be awesome! I’m posting this no brainer egg salad recipe because people have been requesting simple, packable, and dairy free lunch options.
I’ll be posting other really easy recipes in the next couple of weeks as well, so that that you’ll have them for a reference and I can link to them in the menu plans. Meatball Mondays will also be making a comeback, though it will probably be another week or two while I work out the kinks in these menu plan posts. Ok, that was a lot of rambling, but if you haven’t been around lately consider yourself up to date! Add cold water until the eggs are covered by about an inch.
Bring to a boil for ten minutes. Peel the eggs under cold running water. Add the eggs to a food processor or magic bullet and pulse until chopped. Stir in the mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice and salt and pepper. Hope you’ll join us on our low carb weight loss journey!
If so meet us back here on Saturday! This is the amazing recipe and sooo simple. I did a finger food party for 15 people. Made sandwiches with this filling and everyone wanted the recipe.
Children’s Christmas book – 1950
And not a single high carb morsel crossed my lips either, holding steady. Didn’t read every comment, but wondering hat the problem is with using heavy whipping cream in your coffee with this plan? Is heinz mayonnaise ok to use? Tried this recipe and was amazed how delicious it was.
Great Saturday morning brunch, severed with cherry tomatoes on the side. Looking forward to more easy made, simple but great tasting recipes. Hi, I did Atkins 15 years ago with fabulous results. I’ve been a naughty girl these past 5 years with the obvious result- weight gain. Your blog inspired me to restart once again! Thanks, keep up the good work.
I have been reading your blog for the last few days and really want to try this. The recipes and menu plans look great! Thanks for taking time to help us transform our bodies into healthier ones. The simple egg salad has 4 servings. 1 and had BPC and Eggs for breakfast already and dont want to mess it up.
Thank you soooo much for all you do I’m really excited to get start I’m a newbie just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you. I am starting the egg fast tomorrow. I was wondering about the lasting effects. Were you able to maintain the weight loss from the fast? Is the bacon and lettuce allowed on the egg fast?
I’m ready for week 1 ! I lost 6 pounds of fat in the 3 day plan ! My keto stick was dark purple this morning ! I had keto headache yesterday but I drank my cup of chicken broth and it went away. No hunger, no cravings and 6 pounds of fat gone ! Looking forward to this week’s menus. Thanks again for making this so easy to do.

I’m so excited to have founs your site! I plan on starting my keto way of eating next week! I did keto nearly 18 years ago and lost a lot of weight And then was told it was super bad for me. Now if have two autoimmune diseases and I am 20 lbs over weight. So I am going to do the 3 days to ketones then the 5 day egg fast.
I do not have a Facebook page to keep u informed of progress. I am now following u on Twitter and will post there. Or you can update us right here in the comments or in the forum page! Curious to hear how you do!
As a vegetarian I am already struggling to find many options beyond meat substitutes and nuts and eggs. Can anyone recommend recipes or sites? I desperately need to lose weight for medical reasons. Try Pinterest and search vegetarian low carb and you should get some recipes to try out! I just found this website and am super pumped to give this a try.
I have just recently become gluten free for health reasons and was having a hard time with what to eat so this is very helpful! Is there anyone out there trying this for 2015? I would love a support partner! Just found this site and I love it! I have PCOS and I have had some success with low-carb but I always find myself failing and I think a lot of it is lack of ideas for meals so this is great! Thank you for your hard work! How did you work out the calories for the egg salad?
4 servings for a total of 166. Just did one batch of egg salad for starting tomorrow. You can eat as much as you like Katy, it’s just easier to calculate the nutrition info that way but double up if you need to! Hi Melissa, I have to agree that finding your website was indeed a godsend!
I, too have been more or less stumbling around doing low carb with no direction. I have managed to lose 30 lbs. I plan on doing the 3 day Keto Kickstart plan starting tomorrow and hope to be further on my way with your meal planning and recipes. Thank you so much for your site.
I would love to join you on Facebook. Do you have a Facebook name? I love your recipes, but I really wanted to comment on how delighted I am to see recipes that don’t involve a lot of special ingredients that crush my grocery budget. Think I am finally on track since I started logging everything with a food tracker on my fitness pal so it should be going a lot smoother in the nextlittle bit. I love how much your voice comes through in your writing. Finding this website was a godsend! I’ve been doing low carb for about 4 months now and have managed to drop a good deal of weight but meals were beginning to get a bit monotonous.
Lots of great ideas here, very well explained and with the nutritional breakdown. Thanks so much Matt and welcome to IBIH! Congrats on your weight loss so far, and I hope the recipes here help you keep going strong! When I used to work by a nice Jewish deli, I’d get the egg salad bagel only they mixed in chunks of avocado with the eggs. Just thought I’d throw that out as another spin on egg salad.

Thanks so much for all your hard work. I’m going to start keto in 1 week. Thanks Belenda, I’m a huge fan of eggs and avocado too! I’m pretty sure there is a guacamole inspired deviled egg recipe on the blog here somewhere, but I never thought of making it into egg salad! All of the same great flavor but so much less work!
Definitely going to have to try that, thanks for sharing! I know I need to consume less than 20 go of net carb, is there a limit to fat? How much protein do I need? Cleaning out pantry, shopping and starting Monday. My story is very similar to yours Melissa. Have been low carbing for years. Lost 35 lbs and maintained however this last few months got very loose and ate things I would not dream of in 8 yrs.
I researched and researched to keep my blood sugar numbers normal thus sticking with low carb. I need to stay in nutritional ketosis to be healthier, loose the lbs again, and continue on to loose even more. The higher carbs and gluten I have allowed in has enraged my inflammation, played havoc with my sinuses, congestion, overall aches and pains. The list could go on and on. I appreciate your frank straight forwardness. Thanks for the time and effort this takes.
Yes, it sounds like we’re in a similar boat! I feel so horrible physically and even mentally when I don’t eat low carb, but once I start it’s like I can’t stop and the weight just creeps on. Hoping this time will be different for both of us! Just wondering how we activate a photo of ourselves when we post a comment? I think it’s active when you sign in through wordpress if you have one there, or if you assign one when you register an email to comment. Not really sure how to go back and do it after the fact, or if you can edit your profile.
I just discovered your site a couple of weeks ago, and just want to say thank you! I needed some new inspiration, and some new ideas, and you’ve got that and then some! I’m insuline resistant, and recently found that I’m gluten intolerant as well. Have to admit, it made me a bit mopey. The shot of positive optimism in your writing was much appreciated! And your admission to your own temporary gluten-folly above makes me feel I’m reading someone who understands.
Can’t wait to try the crackers! Sorry to hear about your newly diagnosed gluten intolerance but the good news is that you should be feeling better soon now that you’re off of it! You’ll find that there are SO MANY delicious alternatives now that you will hardly miss the gluten once you get used to it. I usually cheat from convenience rather than cravings when it comes to the gluten. Guess I should take the word trying out of that statement. Your blog and your help will make me successful this time.

I’m so tired of starting and stalling. My downfall is the lack of planning and I’m so looking forward to your help. Earlier you mentioned a keto calculator. Thanks so much for offering to share your work with us ! Love it and definitely appreciate it. Planning is definitely key to success for me too Debbie! If I don’t have something low carb friendly handy and I’m starving, I’m so much more likely to cave and eat something off plan which usually leads to a week long hiatus and a few gained pounds!
Hopefully the menu plans will help ALL of us to avoid that outcome! Thanks for doing this, I’m excited! I’ve never been able to kick the sweet potato and wine habit. A lot of people have success on keto with getting rid of PCOS! PCOS you’ll find tons of stuff on it and success stories! Hope this works for you too! I love this blog, and it’s actually the only food-related one I follow currently.

My husband and I showed his mom how to do Keto for the month she was here, then we’ve been off it since Christmas day. I’ve found that this time, even though I made a list of things I thought I wanted to eat while we were off the diet, absolutely NONE of it was something I’d consider a craving. My mom-in-law has already restarted Keto since we drove her home a few states over. I’m starting to really miss bacon and pork rinds.
We’ve decided that today is our last day of carbs- today is the last day that bids will be accepted for a few school bus routes based at the terminal nearer home, and if I win one, it means I’ll be able to bike to work again. I too tend to get headaches, though I’ve noticed they have been less strong each time we transition. They tend to be easily fixable with a simple dose of Excedrin now. Mom-in-law seems to be feeling a thick brain fog, as she calls it. I don’t have that, bad enough to notice anyway. I’m VERY excited to get back on Keto so my husband stabilizes mood-wise.
That man was not built to eat carbs- Ketosis is a blessing. Must be the blood sugar swings that do it. Thank you so much for all your hard work, Mellissa! Moral support is just what I need right now. I’m feeling disgusted with my bingeing and weight gain. Glad to know there will be a place to go to find people with similar goals.
No shaming here Mary, but I know what you mean! I feel so much more in control on keto and it definitely helps my self confidence overall! I am so excited to have found your blog. The presentation and numerous amount of recipes are greatly appreciated.
I can’t wait to begin trying some of the recipes along with the Keto Plan. Gluten free makes me feel so much better and hopefully it will for you too! Hope you enjoy the recipes and looking forward to hearing about your progress! Oh I am so excited for this! I have to say I absolutely love your blog. I’m a college girl and people always think I know what I’m doing in the kitchen but I just use your amazing recipes! They are so easy to follow and use normal ingredients I can actually afford and find in small town Mississippi.
23 or Bust
After my Christmas eating frenzy, I need help getting back on track and this is exactly what I need! Thank you so so so much! Hi Brooke and thanks so much! I aim for when creating them!
I ate next to nothing since Wednesday evening except chicken bullion and tea. I figure by tomorrow I should be eating again and back on track. Thanks Melissa for all the hard work and being willing to share with all of us your great ideas and status! Sorry to hear that you are sick Beth, I hope that you’re feeling better soon! The good news is that you’ll probably lose a few bonus pounds so good on you for getting a head start! Like so many others here I am excited to read your posts and see that I am not the only one that had gotten off track. My daughter’s wedding is in June and I need to get back on track!
Thanks for the boost and the recipes. Getting the stuff for the Chili today. We’ll have you in tip top shape by then! Hope you like the chili, I had some for lunch today and it was great! Two pounds down for me, since Jan. Doesn’t sound like much, but I haven’t worked out in months with the traveling for holidays etc. Still in an energy slump, but the headaches are better.
This is what happens when parents pressure kids to eat more food.
Gluten was an issue for me as well. Have done low carb before with great results but not keto, so trying to do that now. Love your recipes, always buy your books. Hang in there on the energy thing, I always feel lethargic the first week or so and then BAM it’s like I’m loaded with energy all the time! Just one of the awesome side effects of keto! Looks great to take to work. I’m on day five of getting off the sugar and wheat and I think my headache is finally gone.
Hopefully I remember that next time I’m tempted to stray. Having that out of the way I’m super excited to jump on board with this and happy to be down 5 pounds since Monday. This low carb thing really works doesn’t it? Woo hoo, only 20 more to go. And thanks for sharing your great success so far!
