Merchandising Concentration The Merchandising concentration prepares students for the assortment, planning, and sale of textile and apparel goods. Studio Concentration The Studio concentration gives students a liberal education with a focus on one or more of the visual arts. Drawing Concentration The program builds on a foundation of basic skills toward advanced drawing as high art form. Electronic Art Concentration Electronic Art uses digital mediums to create art. CSU’s program focuses on experimental video and animation techniques, net art, and using software as a medium for creative output.

Fibers Concentration Our students become adept at creating and transforming fabrics and fiber structures. Coursework provides a foundation in weaving, surface design, and related textile techniques. Graphic Design Concentration Students learn through graphic design theory, history and professional practices to create artistic expressions in print and digital media, experimenting with treatments of typography and illustration. Metalsmithing Concentration Students explore traditional metalsmithing techniques, while developing their own artistic practice. Projects introduce and strengthen technical skills and explore historical and contemporary practice within the field. Painting Concentration Students gain an understanding of the visual language and technical aspects of painting. Photo Image Making Concentration Students learn the fundamentals of photographic practice, gain an understanding of its connections to the contemporary art world, and explore personal applications of the medium.

Pottery Concentration The comprehensive curriculum exposes students to the range of contemporary ceramic art processes and concepts. Students develop critical, technical, and manual skills. Printmaking Concentration Students develop a technical background in a variety of media needed to cultivate a studio practice. Courses are taught workshop-style allowing artists to share diverse creative inquiry. Sculpture Concentration Students are encouraged to experiment and innovate while exploring content in the areas of object-making, installation, site-based work, performance, time-based art, and digital processes. Medical Sciences Concentration This concentration augments the major with additional coursework in anatomy and physiology, the biochemistry of disease, and a medical internship.

Botany Concentration The Botany concentration focuses on plants and plant-like organisms from microscopic algae to giant redwoods, and from fungi to flowers. Finance Concentration Finance students study asset valuation, investments, and global finance, and select from three options for more in-depth study: corporate finance, investment analysis, or real estate finance. Organization and Innovation Management Concentration This program prepares students to be effective managers of projects, budgets, teams, and processes in diverse, global, and highly competitive business environments. Real Estate Concentration Real estate professionals help find, provide, and manage physical spaces and coordinate across industries including architecture, construction, law, finance, marketing, property management, and urban development.

Men’s basketball head coach Paul Hogan was named USCAA Coach of the Year for leading his team to a 25-5 overall record. The Lynx went 15-1 in conference and took the conference title on their home court for the first time in eight years. NHTI’s season came to an end in the USCAA national quarterfinals. Senior Riselly Deoleo led the YSCC in points with 476 and was second in rebounds with 251 for the season.

Deoleo scored her 1,000th point the game before the winter break and was a leader for the Lynx for the past three years. NHTI’s men’s basketball national title run came to an end on Thursday afternoon as the fifth-seeded Penn State Brandywine Lions eliminated the four seed Lynx, 91-86 in overtime, in the quarterfinals of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association tournament. The Lynx jumped out to a 29-22 late in the first half following a 9-0 NHTI spurt, but the Lions rallied to tie the score at 31-31 then went on their own 9-0 run to head into the break with a 35-33 lead. The Lynx scored the second half’s first four points tie knot the score, but Brandywine exploded for 14 of the next 16 points, moving their lead as large as 12 points with 13:36 to go in regulation. A Lions three followed by two free throws stretched the margin back to six points for Brandywine, but the Lynx tied the score by knocking down two free throws with 1:46 to play and missed on a final three-point heave at the conclusion of regulation, sending the game to overtime.

Lions connected on a triple and added a basket to send the Lions back in front. 41 seconds left, Cook was fouled while shooting a three-pointer and sank all three of his ensuing free throws to give the Lions an 89-86 advantage. Lynx sophomore Simpson finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. The Lynx fall to 24-4 and will play a YSCC finals rematch against Vermont Tech in a USCAA consolation game Friday at noon. The YSCC men’s basketball champion Lynx were selected as the four seed to the United States Collegiate Conference national tournament. NHTI will take on Penn State Brandywine Thursday at 3:15. The duo have headed a team that went 24-4 overall and 15-1 in conference play.

For the second year in a row, a men’s team will play for the YSCC Elite 8 Championship but this time it will be on their home court as the NHTI Lynx took down Southern Maine Community College, 93 – 69 to advance to the championship game on Sunday. After leading at the half by just 5 points, the Lynx clamped down the defense mid-second half, and never looked back.

The Lynx will play for the YSCC Men’s Elite 8 Championship on home court at 2P Sunday. Defending USCAA champions CMCC Mustangs dominated the boards to move on to the women’s final. The Lady Mustangs beat the Lynx 76 – 66 to earn a spot in the YSCC Elite 8 Women’s Championship on Sunday. CMCC and NHTI battled evenly for the first quarter, but the Mustangs rebounding helped grab them grab a 34 – 23 halftime lead. 10 points and grab six rebounds in the half for CMCC.

Second half was much of the same as the Mustangs continued their dominance on the boards. Deoleo fouled out with just over six minutes left in the game and finished with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Other Lynx stepped up and battled til the end. Mustangs with 14 points, four rebounds and four steals.

NHTI finishes the season 20-10 overall and 10-6 in YSCC Play. The NHTI Lynx pulled away in the second half to defeat the Paul Smith’s College Bobcats 104 – 80 in YSCC Elite Eight quarterfinal action Friday evening. The first half was a hard fought, back and forth battle ending with the Bobcats holding the 41-39 lead. Simpson tied Stone for game-high 25 points apiece. Seguin finished the game with a double-double for the Bobcats with 18 points and ten rebounds.
