In general, Pre-K and nursery programs serve the same age group, but may be classified differently depending on the school. Don Lowing ’95 Multi-media producer, world-class ice sculptor and artist, Don Lowing began his journey in the Chef Apprenticeship program at Bucks. Already working in the restaurant business and interested in the creative arts, Lowing also signed on as a part-time art major.

I think at 18 years old, it’s the time to discover who you are and who you want to be. A great influencer for me was Chef Earl Arrowood as a mentor and as my professor. Like any discipline, there are a range of possibilities. He’s really good at sharing the vision of what’s possible. He provided a lot of practical experience in a way that me and my classmates could understand. Lowing believes his professional successes have come from both hard work and discipline.

One challenge that has followed my entire career is sculpture. Ten million pounds of ice and 20 years later, I am still practicing that skill that I learned in a class under Chef Arrowood. Hours may change for special exhibitions. Additional charge for some special exhibitions. Joslyn’s Hitchcock Museum Shop is open during all regular Museum hours. Enjoy a delicious meal or light refreshments in the beautiful sunlit atmosphere of Joslyn’s Café Durham, located in the Museum’s atrium. Joslyn Art Museum’s Peter Kiewit Foundation Sculpture Garden is open year-round from 7 am to 11 pm each day, and admission is free.

Docent-guided tours are offered Wednesdays at 1 pm, Saturdays at 10:30 am, Sundays at 1 pm, and select Thursdays at 6:30 pm. Check the Calendar of Events to confirm tour offerings. Most tours are included in free general Museum admission. Tours of ticketed exhibitions require ticket purchase.

Free parking is available in the Parking Garden northeast of the Museum. Metered parking is available on surrounding streets. The northeast Parking Garden is accessible via the Dodge Street entrance drive to the south or the 24th Street entrance drive to the west. Visitors may enter the Museum through the Memorial Building entrance or the atrium entrance of the Scott Pavilion, both located on the east side.

Disabled persons should use the atrium entrance. Wheelchairs and strollers are available on a first-come, first-served basis at no additional charge. All galleries and public spaces are accessible to disabled persons. Sign language interpreters are available with three weeks advance notice.
